Women Connecting to Country

This exclusive event is open to a maximum of 15 women for the opportunity to spend the weekend of Friday 29th of April to Sunday 1st of May 2022 connecting to Yengo Country. Be introduced to the little lore stories of Aboriginal women that bring healing and connection.

Join Leanne King as she shares the stories of Yengo Country passed on by Elders.

Your weekend experience includes all accommodation at Leanne's property Ngurrumpa, smoking ceremony, Acknowledgement of Country, Aboriginal astronomy, campfire yarns, Indigenous inspired catering, transport to sites and special guests. 

Feel immersed with nature, spend time with others, and be present on Country.

The itinerary includes:

Friday 29th of April 

4pm - Arrive at Wollombi Cultural Centre, where you will make your way to 'Ngurrumpa'

5pm - Welcome and Smoking Ceremony

6pm - Dinner

8:30pm - Campfire yarns including Aboriginal Astronomy

Saturday 30th of April

7:00am - Breakfast

8:00am - Connecting to Country visits

12:30pm - Lunch in Wollombi

2:00pm - Reflection and Healing time

5:00pm - Dinner

6:30pm - Connecting to Country night visits

Sunday 1st of May

8:00am - Breakfast

9:00am - Dance, song and weaving workshops

12:30pm - Lunch

2:00pm - Camp wrap up and departure

There will be a limited supply of snacks and water that Leanne may have at the campsite, such as tea, coffee and cutlery and crockery is supplied. Accommodation is simple, rustic and with shared facilities. You simply need to bring your own food, supplies, water and amenities, as well as sleeping bags, any tents or camping equipment. There is a shared kitchen, facilities, refrigeration, outdoor shower, hot water, and eco-toilets.
